# View Secret Key in wallet

Leather for web lets you get the Mnemonic (Secret Key) via the the overflow menu:

![Untitled](/files/0C2PNbvYvS9cNcHRcYkz)

The seed phrase is compatible with (BIP39) Bitcoin wallets. As such the mnemonic lets you deterministically derive your private key. So if you have the mnemonic, you have the private key. You're free to save this electronically.

The point of the bip39 specification is to make saving keys easier for users unfamiliar with cryptography.

If you would like to make the conversion from mnemonic to private key you can use a third party tool like this: <https://iancoleman.io/bip39/>. Or you can use the Electrum wallet, when the option comes up make sure to select BIP39 and P2SH.
